RomHacks Done Quick will happen ! But what is it?

The 2nd edition of RHDQ schedule has been released! 

What is RHDQ?

RHDQ (RomHacks Done Quick) is an international event. During this event, gamers from all over the World speedrun Super Mario 64 romhacks. The objectives are to be the fastest possible and to entertain people watching the stream.

What is a speedrun?

A speedrun is a play-through of a video game performed with the intention of completing it as fast as possible within one's own ability. Players attempt speedruns mainly to challenge themselves and to entertain and compete with others (more).

What is a romhack?

ROM hacking is the process of modifying a ROM image (usually of a video game) to alter the game's graphics, dialogue, levels, gameplay, and/or other elements. This is usually done by technically inclined video game fans to breathe new life into a cherished old game, as a creative outlet, or to make essentially new unofficial games using the old game's engine (more).

Why specifically Super Mario 64?

Super Mario 64 is one of the only games which allows a true freedom of movements. Nintendo 64, which was the console allowing us to play the original game is able to display a big amount of huge polygons, making the possibility to create wide and original levels by romhacking. Some people would say they also like it for the nostalgia it provides and other people would say it's for its simplicity to hack and play. The emulator needed to play those romhacks doesn't take huge computer performances, so it can be played on almost all computers (and Wii).

Where can I watch RHDQ?

You can watch it on Twitch, which is a streaming platform.

How can I interact with the RHDQ community?

That's actually easy : just be sure to have a Twitch account so you can interact in chat. You also can join the special Discord server and interact with people here and using voice chat (you also have to make a Discord account before). 
Don't be shy. It is not because you're new that we will reject you. Be respectful and kind with people, and it will go well for each people 😀.

Is there a special schedule for this great event?

Sure there is ! You can find it here. It might change a little. 

Do we know when RHDQ will take place?

It will take place at the end of July, 2017.

There are many ways.
